Find the source, not just the sore spot.
For athletes and for people who sit at a desk all day — which, in this part of town, is most of us.

Who books sports massage
Desk-bound and stiff
Shoulders, neck and lower back that tighten through the week and settle over the weekend, then start again on Monday. The pattern is the useful information, and it's usually about how you sit and how little you move, not about the muscle that hurts.
Training regularly
Recovery between hard sessions, or a niggle that hasn't become an injury. If you train two or three times a week and something is always slightly sore, this is the service that keeps it from turning into a stoppage.
Something specific
Tennis elbow, tight calves, a shoulder that's stopped moving freely. One area, one clear complaint, a targeted piece of work.
What sports massage is
Sports massage is hands-on soft-tissue treatment used to reduce muscle tightness, ease overuse pain and support recovery between training sessions. It isn't the same as a relaxation massage — the pressure and technique are chosen to change how a specific area moves, so some of it is firm and some of it is uncomfortable in a way that's worth telling us about as it happens.
A session, start to finish
We ask what you do all day, not just where it hurts.
Hours at a desk, how you commute, what you train, what you carry, how you sleep. The cause is usually somewhere other than the pain, and the history is what points to it.
Then hands-on work on the areas that need it.
We tell you what we're working on and why, and we check pressure as we go. Nothing happens without you knowing what it's for.
You leave with a couple of things to do between visits.
Two or three, not a sheet of twelve. A tight area that keeps returning is being fed by something you do daily, and the between-visit work is what interrupts that.
Massage, physiotherapy or training?
Sports massage
Releasing tightness and supporting recovery. Start here if you're stiff and sore rather than injured.
Physiotherapy
Assessment and treatment of pain, injury and restricted movement. Start here if something genuinely hurts, or if the same area keeps returning.
Personal training
Building the strength and capacity that stop tightness coming back in the first place.
Massage sits well alongside either of the other two and isn't a substitute for either. Because all three are in the same building, moving between them is a conversation rather than a referral to another business.

When sports massage isn't the right call
If you have an acute injury, unexplained pain or a recent flare-up you have not had assessed, see a physiotherapist first. Massage may feel good and can delay working out what is actually wrong.
It is also not the right service if what you want is an hour of quiet relaxation. The work here is specific and firm, and it is aimed at changing how an area moves.
FAQs
60 minutes suits most people and covers a region rather than a single point. 30 minutes is enough for one specific area. 90 minutes suits full-body work or several areas at once.
That depends on what you're doing between visits. People training hard often book fortnightly during a heavy block. People whose tightness is desk-related tend to start more frequently and space visits out as the between-visit work takes effect. We'll tell you honestly when you no longer need to come as often.
5 Kadayanallur Street, KADA, Level 2, Unit 06/07/09, Singapore 069183, a short walk from Maxwell MRT. Open Mon–Fri 7am–9pm and Sat and Sun 9am–1pm, which covers lunch hours and after work.
Clothing that lets us reach the area being treated. Sports massage works best applied directly to skin.
The same person each time. There's one sports massage therapist at Horizon, within a team of 13 practitioners, so nobody has to be brought up to speed on your history at the start of every appointment, and the pattern across visits is being read by somebody who saw the last one.
Cancel or move a session at least 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours the session is charged, unless something genuinely unavoidable happened — talk to us.
Yes, all three — you can train before work or at lunch and still make your next meeting.
Deal with the tightness before it becomes the injury.
